The Walk (2015)

This is a walk I’d rather not take, but I’m glad Philippe Petit did. He seems to have made the Twin Towers of New York famous for not just being the target of a gigantic tragedy. I thought that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was incredibly adorable in this film, yes, his accent wasn’t spot-on all the time… but I loved him nonetheless. Charlotte Le Bon was gorgeous and interesting to watch. I also liked seeing Ben Kinsley in this as well, he’s in a lot of films but he adds a lot. The movie is very entertaining with an Ocean’s Eleven style set-up and the final scenes will scare the crap out of you if you have acrophobia like I do. I also just felt like it was a touching tribute to the World Trade Center that focuses on life instead of death. I love Zemeckis as a director and I’m glad he’s still working hard in Hollywood.

Furious 7 (2015)

I’m a little furious that I actually like this movie. I normally like to trash these movies, because I’m not much of a gear-head. If a car can get me from point A to point B. I’m totally fine. I guess what really impressed me in this movie was the amazing chase sequences. The one on the mountain pass was especially thrilling. The dialogue still haunts these movies, it’s just pretty bad. Also, the film’s length really hurts it. In fact, I would say this movie has three movies inside it. Just as you are like “Oh, it’s wrapping up…” a whole new plot-line starts up. I think I’m giving this a high score mainly because I actually was very entertained in the action sequences. The acting and writing really was lacking. Also, Paul Walker, you will be missed. There’s a pretty good tribute at the end of this film, that might make you cry.

Bad Grandpa (2013)

Oh sonny you are in for a treat and I don’t mean Worther’s Originals. This is the first movie from the J.A. crew that I have truly enjoyed. I mainly liked this because it was a full length movie based on my favorite scene from the first J.A. movie. Knoxville isn’t always hilarious in this but when he is he had me rolling on the floor. Jackson Nicoll was also great as the Grandson. The scene at the beauty pageant is worth seeing this film alone. Has kind of a sadistic but sweet ending. A lot of fun.

Jackass 3-D

There were some laughs for sure. I’m afraid the really gross parts that were not funny kind of overshadowed the good parts. I will fully admit that some of the stunts were spectacular. I was even very impressed by some of the really¬†juvenile¬†things like the guy who blew an air dart from his butt and popped a balloon. The Lamborghini tooth pull was also pretty neat. I didn’t see a lot of 3-D parts but I didn’t watch it in 3-D anyway. Mostly though this movie was pretty gross.
