The Age of Adaline (2015)

I could feel myself aging during this film. It just felt a little too long. I also think they put a few things in this to just make it sad for no reason. I do like Blake Lively and she is very pretty in this film, very classy. Harrison Ford was a huge surprise as I didn’t know he was in this when I started the movie. The subject matter of this film is very enthralling but it doesn’t go anywhere all that interesting. It’s all very sweet though, and despite the fact that I didn’t love it, I’ll say it is a fine movie, just nothing to write home about.

The Intern (2015)

A good, mostly clean, comedy never gets too old and Robert De Niro isn’t too old to intern at a tech company. This movie has some really nice moments. It does seem like it steals from the Devil Wears Prada (especially, funny enough, Anne Hathaway’s part) but that’s not a bad thing. Rene Russo was also an unexpected but welcome addition to the cast. The movie doesn’t really paint a favorable light to stay-at-home dads, but luckily the film doesn’t focus too much on that. I was surprised at a few story-line threads in this movie that start going somewhere and then die off without any sort of warning. The ending of this movie too left me a little disappointed. Still, it was mostly cute and a nice way to spend a cold afternoon.
