Baby’s Day Out (1994)

This baby had a fun time, but I felt like I was stuck in traffic. I remember watching this way back in ’94 and thought it was hilarious. On my revisiting, it wasn’t that funny. It was like a Home Alone clone, but just not as good. The best part of the whole movie was when Joe Mantegna had the only tree in his forest burnt down. Baby Bink was absolutely adorable and Cynthia Nixon and Lara Flynn Boyle were also quite adorable. I’m also a fan of Joe Pantoliano from the Sopranos, he did a pretty good job. I just wish the film wasn’t totally based on dumb physical comedy. It hasn’t aged very well, lets hope the baby did.

Dirty Dancing (1987)

I can’t say that I’ve had the time of my life, but baby, this movie was fun at times. I had the wrong idea about this film. I thought the whole thing was about dancing, but instead it was about a summer romance and being a bigger person and helping people out in a jam, even if it causes you an inconvenience in life. Patrick Sawyze has some serious moves on the dance floor and Jennifer Grey is a beautiful dance partner. The final scene of the film is so iconic as is the music from this film’s era. I think this movie will remain a classic because nobody puts Baby in a corner, NOBODY!

Tin Toy (1988)

The plot may be as thin as tin but I thought it had some funny moments. I must point out how bad the baby was animated though, it looked like it climbed out of the pits of hell it was so scary. Once you get over the demon baby you will get some laughs from the Tin Toy. The baby has scared all the other toys so they are hiding, but the Tin Toy feels bad for the baby and plays with him. The best part is the baby ignores the toy (like a real kid) and plays with the packaging instead. So true, boxes and bags are better than the toys sometimes.
