Crimson Peak (2015)

Anything done by Guillermo del Toro peaks my interest… this movie unfortunately peaked my boredom a bit too much. The whole movie moves really slowly and that pacing just really hurts the fun. As usual del Toro does great with the special effects and creature design. That part of the movie is really, really strong. The strongest thing the movie can have though is a great lead actor or actress. Both Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska fit the bill on great actors. Having both Mia and Jessica Chastain in the same movie was almost too much for my eyes to take. I find both actresses very enchanting. I just wish this movie would have been better. I’ll still say it’s a “good” movie, but let’s just say you won’t have this as your favorite Halloween pick ten years from now like some other films do.

70/100
