Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)

I had to belch to get myself down from the elation of this movie. It was quite scrumdidilyumptious! I forgot how many songs were in this movie, it’s not too bad of a musical. Plus I love all the different characters and their parents. Roald Dahl is amazing at creating some really cool and weird characters and this story is no different. Gene Wilder plays the part of Wonka and he is just wonderful. He had me laughing throughout the film. I especially love his dry humor and nonchalant attitude when one of the naughty children were in peril. And poor little Charlie Bucket, you just feel so bad for him… while others are stuffing their faces with chocolate he feels blessed to have even two attempts at a golden ticket. A great movie and still holds up after all these years, you’ll have oompa loompa songs last in your head as long as a gobstopper lasts in your mouth.

87/100
