Tomorrowland (2015)

I hope this isn’t what the Disney films of tomorrow will be, or our future will be grim indeed. This movie wasn’t all bad. I liked the two lead females and some of the side characters. I didn’t care much for doom and gloomy Clooney. I think I basically heard the dangers of climate change 3 or 4 times before the movie ended. We were also instructed on why wars are bad and people shouldn’t be obese and starving in different parts of the same world. When you feel like the movie is done preaching finally, you realize that the movie is basically over. Some good CGI effects help the movie along, plus some pretty grotesque robot violence keeps the pace going even further. It’s not a hard movie to finish, but you feel like you sat through a college lecture on humanity and everything we are doing wrong. It tries to strike a hopeful chord but the audience will be lost by then. Stick to cute animated animals singing Disney. Do what you do best or there will be no TOMORROW…land?
