Chappie (2015)

I’m one happy chap. Imagine Short Circuit and District 9 had a movie baby and you have this film. Chappie is a police droid that is kidnapped and reprogrammed by a group of misfits. A lot of people didn’t like these characters, but they were just as fun as they were colorful. The writing is really funny (albeit crass) and the action and CGI are top notch. You’ll fall in love with Chappie way faster than you did with Wall-E, plus Chappie is a gangster number one. There were a lot of laughs to be had and even some moments where you feel truly sorry for the robot. I loved Hugh Jackman and Dev Patel. Yo-Landi and Ninja were also great additions to the cast. Sharlto Copley as Chappie’s voice was also really good. This isn’t your normal type of movie and that’s why I really liked it. Plus, those graphics… Neill Blomkamp is a genius with special effects.

    • Thanks! Yeah, I don’t understand the hate of this movie either. It has a 6.9 out of ten stars on user reviews for IMDB… that is way too low for how good this movie is.
