Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015)

Well I’m glad the force is awakening people and not putting them to sleep like the prequel films… this movie was a lot of fun. I won’t say it’s the best, because it is not. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is the best. Still, this sort-of remake of A New Hope was a lot of fun. I was really happy to see some old faces that weren’t in the prequels and the new faces were really good. Daisy Ridley is as beautiful as she is deadly with her good fighting skills and her mechanical skills. The new rollerball droid BB-8 is super cute and you can slap Oscar Isaac into any movie and make it a better film. The special effects and music were awesome and it has a good cliffhanger ending that has me waiting for the next one. Is this movie too similar to A New Hope? Yes, and I don’t care. Is there some secret girl-power agenda in this film? Also, I do not care as I think female heroines are great. The movie has the feel of the originals with some new content and to me that’s as comforting as a nice warm cup of bantha milk cocoa.
