A Most Violent Year (2014)

This film felt like a most boring year. The acting in this film was good. Really good… but excellent acting won’t save a boring film. You’ll gasp at all the paperwork being filed. All the meetings that will enthrall you! If Oscar Isaac wasn’t such a great actor, I would have fallen asleep. Also, this movie has Jessica Chastain and David Oyelowo, but does the movie use them to their full potential? Nope. Aside from a deer incident and a payoff scheme Jessica and David were practically background characters. I guess this is supposed to be a mobster movie, but this film was as mobster as using your turn signal while driving in a Grand Theft Auto game. Unless you just love the actors in this film, I’d see a different movie this year… because you’ll find other movies much more violent than this.

50/100
