I Origins (2014)

I do believe that I can’t believe my eyes. This movie was super cool. It doesn’t move at a fast pace which makes it very much a drama but the sci-fi element to it just blew my mind. Michael Pitt plays the part of a molecular biologist that studies eyes and falls in love with a girl with the most incredible eyes (Astrid Berges-Frisbey). Where this girl leads him in his studies is incredible. I love the clash of science and religion that this movie tackles. Can irrefutable proof of religion change a scientists mind or can irrefutable science wipe out religion? This movie makes you think and is beautifully done by director Mike Cahill. I must also mention Brit Marling, once again being completely awesome and I must say she is in my top five for favorite actresses. If you love a good love story and a very unique science fiction experience, you can’t go wrong with this underrated film.

100/100
