Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987)

Whether it has wings, is on rails or burns rubber down the road… John Candy and Steve Martin are on it and are causing trouble wherever they go. I think I would have liked this movie if I would have found it just funny instead of cringe-worthy. You see, I hate traveling by just about every form of transportation except planes. So while they were struggling during this movie, I was feeling all their pain and it was stressing me out. It is still a great movie and I love the relationship that develops between the two main characters. My favorite scene is at the car rental counter where Martin loses it. John Hughes creates the ultimate road trip mixed with disaster movie. It’s also not a bad movie to pop in each Thanksgiving. Kudos to Kevin Bacon’s little scene at the beginning. Watch this if you love road trips, if they bother you like me, still watch it because it has some really funny and endearing moments.

80/100
