Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

The Avengers is starting to show its age. I didn’t like this movie nearly as much as the first. A lot of the scenes felt like they were ripped straight from the last one and Age of Ultron was missing one important member of the Avengers, humor. That’s what I liked about the first film, it made me laugh while it also had some alien butt-kicking scenes. This movie hardly made me laugh at all and had some really awkward romance scenes between the Hulk and Black Widow… which I was confused about since they practically didn’t interact in the last film and she seemed awfully interested in Hawkeye before. I did love Elizabeth Olsen (although I love her in a lot of stuff) as the Scarlet Witch and the Hulkbuster scene with Tony Stark and the Hulk going head-to-head was pretty amazing. Otherwise the movie went from Ultron to Bore-tron. The Marvel movies are starting to slide, the only film to give me hope recently was Guardians of the Galaxy.

  1. This definitely wasn’t Guardians!

I also didn’t understand the romance. But then Hawkeye was boring before we knew he was married, so I wouldn’t stick her with him, either. Black Widow should go for Captain America. Obvi!

    Missing character….Loki?

    • Yeah, Hawkeye is a pretty boring Avenger. At least he made fun of himself for fighting a legion of robots with just a bow and arrow. I feel like they tried to humanize him with having a wife, but it does add less mystery to him and make him seem even more normal (he was already the most normal Avenger).
I don’t know, Captain America seems too good for Black Widow, maybe Captain Fury needs a girlfriend, haha. 🙂
Yes, I was also wondering where Loki was, since his scepter kind of created Ultron, oh well, maybe Tom Hiddleston was too busy singing country songs as Hank Williams to do this film.

      • You want Black Widow to hook up with Nick Fury? Oh, my.

I watched a parody of the Hunger Games on Netflix called The Starving Games. At the end of the movie, the Avengers show up to recruit the main character. The parody Nick Fury proceeds to yell at the parody Hawkeye, in a really good Sam Jackson voice, that he’s never going to get his own damn movie. That made me laugh pretty hard. Yeah, no love for old Hawkeye 😉
