Fifty seems like a good score for a film that is about as bland as a grey bowl of porridge. I’m not sure what I was expecting for the film adaptation of one of the sexiest books that has come out since the Kama Sutra (according to some women). Sadly it was about as sexy as Edward and Bella’s honeymoon vacation (at least they broke the bed). It isn’t all bad and I do think that Dakota Johnson is a beautiful woman and did an okay job as Anastasia. Jamie Dornan was handsome as Mr. Grey but he seemed bored in the role, which with the writing I can see why, even tying Dakota up seems less exciting when you have such terrible lines to say. If you are looking for something sensual to watch, check out Cinemax after midnight. This movie won’t do it for you.
