Good Morning, Vietnam (1987)

Goooooood evening iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinternet! I had high hopes for this movie but ended up not liking it as much as I thought I would. This was my first time viewing this comedy/war film with Robin Williams. I liked the premise of a man raising the hopes of our troops in Vietnam but sadly I didn’t find Williams that funny. I was pretty engrossed in this almost obsessive love for this Vietnamese girl that he spotted from his car and ends up following her to her English class, where he ends up teaching her and some of her classmates some New York slang. There are some funny moments, some cute moments and some sad moments. I can see why this movie is pretty popular. I just felt like most of the jokes Williams did and the voices he impersonated have been done in some of his other movies. The ending of the film felt a little forced and made me want to turn my radio dial to something else. This movie has it’s good moments but it is pretty far from being great.

70/100
