This movie was a lot more fun when I was shrunken little kid, but it seems to have lost a little luster now that I’m an adult. I do still like Rick Moranis and wish he was acting again and Amy O’Neill was a delight, it’s too bad her career really hasn’t taken off. Some of the special effects are a little goofy which makes this film feel a lot older than 1989. Matt Frewer is awesome as the sporty next door neighbor and that ant vs. scorpion fight was pretty epic. This is the type of movie that makes you think twice about tromping around the back yard. It hasn’t aged well, but it still has a lot of fun parts like eating a giant Little Debbie Oatmeal Cookie. Yum! The film may feel small now, but it was big when I was little.
