When Harry Met Sally… (1989)

I’m glad they met and that I got to meet them through this film. This is probably one of the more sweet romantic comedies that I’ve seen. It isn’t terribly interesting all the time and it is a bit formulaic but I think there are two things that really shine. The first is the conversations. I love how much dialogue this film has, I feel like a fly on the wall listening to this budding couple come together. The second thing I loved was the interviews of real couples who have been together for a long, long time. All there stories were so different but had one similar component. They were madly in love with each other. The last thing I’d like to mention is the chemistry between Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal was pretty great and I just loved that scene in the diner with Meg Ryan faking it and the old lady saying “I’ll have what she’s having”. Classic! I’m glad I finally got to see this, a very sweet and interesting movie.

    • When Harry Met Sally was the movie where I first fell in love With Meg Ryan. I once watched it on a date, and couldn’t help moaning and gasping whenever Meg would do something… roll her eyes, deliver a line, laugh… my date continually elbowed me in the ribs and got very agitated. No second date for us, but my love for Meg Ryan movies endures to this day

    • I never thought about having a New Years Eve movie, but this one would be an excellent choice! Die Hard and Gremlins are my favorite Christmas movies right now.
