Lethal Weapon (1987)

The only lethal thing this movie was about is how lethal it was to its lead actors. It seems like not only did Mel Gibson go a little crazy, but so did Danny Glover and Gary Busey. Still, regardless of how the mental status is of these fine actors… this movie was awesome. I love how crazy Gibson is, especially on the rooftop with the jumper. Glover is an excellent foil to Gibson, being the pragmatic cop in the group. I found the final fight scene with Busey a little over the top as a group of cops watch Gibson and Busey duke it out, while Glover says “break his neck!”, I’m not sure in this day of smart phones something like that would be smiled upon. Don’t worry about the inaccuracies of their procedures, just love the laughs and the excellent murder mystery this film serves up to you. I’m getting too old for this kind of stuff… although, I’m feeling like I should watch the second movie now.
