Top Gun (1986)

I tried to not bug out on this movie and I made it through alive. After hearing Highway to the Danger Zone over four times, this song will be stuck in my head for several days. So this movie is pretty interesting. It’s sort of a romance film and also a war movie and it also feels like the Tri-Wizard Tournament in Harry Potter. Who will win the most points to become the #1 pilot in Top Gun? Tom Cruise was his normal charming self, charming the ladies and fighting against mean shirtless-vollyball playing guys like Val Kilmer. Meg Ryan has a cute little cameo in this as Goose’s wife. The best parts of this film are the dog-fighting up in the sky. It was a real adrenaline rush. There is this short sad part in the movie that really took me out of the action, but once Maverick (Cruise) gets his stuff together and fights some enemy planes, things heat up like the afterburners on a jet. I’ve got the need, the need for speed!” Watch this movie if you don’t mind being too close for missiles.

79/100
