Scarface (1983)

Say hello to my little review! Well this was a coked-out 3 hours of my life well spent. By the way, I wasn’t the coked out person, everyone in the movie was… Al Pacino has a great performance as Tony Montanta. He had a lot of highs and lows. One second he is really happy and on top of the world and then next, he is crying over a dead body. Michelle Pfeiffer was pretty good in this but I’m not sure what Pacino saw in her, she really sucked the joy out of every room she was in. Excellent directing from De Palma and great writing by Oliver Stone. I can see why this film is so well loved, it has everything you want from a Gangster movie but it has a bit of a twist seeing it from the Cuban perspective instead of the usual Italian perspective (not that we don’t love those too!). The movie is hip and has a lot of twists and turns in this lengthy crime drama. Check it out meng, you won’t regret it.

86/100
