John Wick (2014)

The wick has been lit and it’s time to watch some bad guys burn! I really liked this movie. I feel like it has been a while since I’ve seen a good action movie where the good guy gives a brutal beat-down to his foes. Yes, Keanu Reeves really has trouble in the acting department but in this movie, he is sort of the strong silent type and doesn’t have too many lines. The opening sequence of the film is pretty heart-wrenching which gives Mr. Wick some justification to take on the New York City underworld. I thought this film oozed style and you just had to cheer Wick on while he empties magazine after magazine of bullets into all the meat heads protecting their bosses. Willem Dafoe and Ian McShane have some good cameos and although Michael Nyqvist wasn’t a scary villain he was still pretty fun in this movie. Probably the most fun I’ve had watching Reeves work since the first Matrix. Woah. Welcome back, dude.
