Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

It takes a big strong heart to make it through the Temple of Doom, but Indiana Jones has no problem whipping those crazy cultists into shape. The second installment of Indiana Jones is a fun one, it has a much different feel to the first where he’s battling gangsters instead of Nazis and Frenchmen. I liked the setting of India and it has some unforgettable scenes like the chilled monkey brains and the big fight on the rope bridge. There are some good references to the first film and a lot of new material for this sequel. Short Round and Willie were good additions to Indy’s crew. I feel like this one had a lot more humor to it but then again, I don’t feel like it surpassed the original. Once again John Williams’s music is excellent and Harrison Ford kills it as Indiana Jones. Grab a big bowl of beetles and some snake surprise and check out this film!

86/100
