Field of Dreams (1989)

This wasn’t a home-run for me, but it also wasn’t a foul ball. I thought it was just okay. I’m not much of a baseball fan, so maybe that is why I wasn’t blown away with this film. I thought Costner did an okay job, but I think James Earl Jones did a much better job being a cantankerous old man. The movie has a strange fantasy element to it, hearing voices and ghosts of old players, it also has one of the most memorable lines “If you build it, he will come”. I wouldn’t mow down my cornfield for baseball, but some people would. If this person is you, watch this film you’ll love it. If you wish he would have made it into a rectangle and painted some yardage lines for a football game then you’ll be a tad disappointed.

70/100
