E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

Spielberg gave the world something extra special with E.T. I’ll admit, I adored this movie when I was younger, now that I’m older and more grumpy this film has lost a little of its magic, but not all of it. It is still a very heartwarming tale of friendship and has some pretty good special effects for the time. John Williams music really adds to the experience and little Drew Barrymore is cute as a button. Sadly I found the young boy who plays Elliot to be way too screechy (which Spielberg tends to make his child actors do) and some of the acting is pretty bad at times. Still, I tried to push that all away and remember my fond childhood memories of feeding aliens fall colored candies and taking a bike ride through the air cascading a perfect silhouette over the moon.

83/100
