Nightcrawler (2014)

No, this film isn’t about X-Men or Fishing… it’s about crime reporting in L.A. and Lou Bloom, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, is at the center of it all.
This film was fascinating, it was kind of lengthy but the time flew by quickly as we saw the burning car wrecks, triple homicides and violence spread around the big city. Gyllenhaal goes around filming violence and catastrophes in his city and gets paid well for it, but at what price for his soul?
I’d say Gyllenhaal is 2014’s best villain, he’s calculating, smart and deadly.
The film is tense and has more street racing than Fast and the Furious. It also has a very interesting ending (or at least that’s my opinion).
This movie is highly recommended and even has Bill Paxton in it, so it gets a double recommendation from me. Check this one out, I plan on owning this one.

  1. Hey, nice review! Loved this one too. Looks like we have a similar thing going on blog-wise, with our mini-reviews of movies from all decades and genres. Looking forward to future posts!

    • Thanks for the comment! I just checked our your blog and you’re right! We do have a very similar set-up. Where do you find your movie poster art? I will look forward to your posts as well, sorry for the long wait to respond, I’m in the middle of getting ready to move so my movie watching / blogging has taken a hit. Take care!

      • understandable! that’ll actually be me in a couple months!

and i wish i could say I made my own poster art or something cool like that but i just google image “nightcrawler poster”, for example, and look for a poster different than the one or two i often see. good luck with moving!
