Dead Poets Society (1989)

Captain, my Captain! This movie was poetry in motion. Sure, it does have a few moments of being campy with these young actors, but Robin Williams stole the show in the film. It was also interesting to see young Ethan Hawke as one of the students. I thought that this movie was very inspirational, and I have to wonder how many teachers went into their profession, because this film inspired them to do so. Professor Keating is one of those teachers that change your life for the better, and even though he didn’t teach me, his inspiration is palpable to me. Everyone has a favorite teacher, this film made me want to write a letter of thanks to mine.
