Escape from New York (1981)

Sometimes I felt like I wanted to escape this movie. You would think a film with a character named “Snake Plissken”, it was be incredibly cool… or at least cool that the President of the United States is trapped in a giant prison that they turned New York City into. Neither of these things help as this film was kind of boring. There were plenty of segments of quiet that weren’t very entertaining and even the action scenes felt a little lacking. Isaac Hayes was pretty funny in this and Kurt Russell was a pretty awesome looking anti-hero. I always love Harry Dean Stanton, but his role was pretty small in this for the most part. I had high hopes John Carpenter, but they have been brought down as low as a chandelier hanging from a Chrysler Lebaron.

66/100
