Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)

I may be alone on this opinion, but I think this is the best Home Alone movie. Now bear with me… I think this is better because it’s the exact same film as the first but it has much funnier scenes. Tim Curry ducking for cover from a Tommy gun firing was gut-busting hilarious. The traps that Macaulay Culkin devised were a lot more painful (they were also in a much creepier house, a la Saw) and the story was just as heartwarming with the nice pigeon-lady with no friends. New York during Christmas brings on the Christmas cheer like no other city as well. Like I said, this movie is almost an exact clone, scene for scene, as the first film. It just takes the good parts a lot further. I’ll still be thankful the first film was made, but I’m glad they used this winning formula to make a very entertaining sequel.

90/100
