The Legend of 1900 (1998)

I wouldn’t say this film is legendary but I did love hearing the lore of 1900. His actual full name in the movie is Danny Boodmann T.D. Lemon Nineteen Hundred. He was a baby found on a boat named the Virginian. Tim Roth plays this musical prodigy really well and you’ll come to love him and adore the music he plays. Two scenes stuck out to me as being amazing; the scene where the waves are knocking the ship around and he takes the brakes off the piano and rides around the ballroom floor while playing his tunes and the scene of the piano duel. Pruitt Taylor Vince was also really great as Roth’s trumpet blasting friend. The movie has a very swanky feel to it, a lot of it taking place in the roaring 20’s. It does have some slow parts, but when it’s good, it’s really good. I’d recommend you see it at least once.

77/100
