A perfect title because I wouldn’t call it Greatfellas or Incredifellas, it’s just Goodfellas. Scorsese’s “masterpiece” just didn’t do a whole lot for me. I thought most of the characters weren’t that lovable. I felt like the Sopranos took what this film did, and did it better. I’ve never been a fan of Liotta, and I’ll say he was more impressive in this film than roles he has done in other films, but still… I just don’t like him and his guy-liner look. Joe Pesci was annoying as ever, that voice ugh, and there wasn’t enough Samuel L. Jackson in this. De Niro was really good and helped the film along really well, but his part was too small too. The film drags along at an incredibly slow pace and the almost 3 hour run-time feels infinitely longer. It’s not a horrible movie, it’s Goodfellas, just not great or incredible fellas. I’ll stick with The Wolf of Wall Street. That was more enjoyable than this film.
