There are billions upon billions of stars… as Carl Sagan would say. Sagan’s book, made into this film was a stellar experience. Yes, it is a VERY long movie, but just like a quick space jump, it only feels like a matter of seconds. I loved Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey’s performances. The villains of the film are the typical government types, but they were presented well, and you’ll hate them will all your might. This film touches upon religion and science and how the two can butt heads and also find ways to work hand in hand. The space sequence is unbelievable but the best thing about this film? It’s believable. The whole set-up of the story could actually happen, nothing hokey like Independence Day, which makes this a beautiful and unique experience.
