Repentance (2014)

Nothing like a bad movie to make you feel sorry… sorry you watched it that is. Repentance was utterly terrible. Its one saving grace was Forest Whitaker’s psycho performance as the grieving son, who wants revenge for his mother’s death. I’ve always liked Anthony Mackie, but he had very little to work with in this pile of a script. The writing was so bad it felt like the audience was being tortured, not Mackie. All the repentance in the world won’t make up for the ending. I’d take a belt-sander to the feet before watching that ending again. Avoid this like Whitaker avoided his psych meds.
