Enemy (2013)

Only your enemy could make a film this confusing. Denis Villeneuve and Jake Gyllenhaal are back at it again after the very well made movie Prisoners. This film isn’t nearly as good though. A murky plot that leads to only more questions really hurts the film. It also drags on and on at times. I honestly almost gave this no points until I read a few theories on what this movie is actually about. Which you shouldn’t have to do once a movie has finished if they were good at story telling. I don’t mind a puzzle, but I want those puzzle pieces to fit together. Sarah Gadon and Melanie Laurent are gorgeous and add a lot to the film. Jake does a good job in a dual role. I just wish the movie was a bit easier to follow and had less arachnids.

67/100
