Saving Mr. Banks (2013)

Emma Thompson needs more than a spoonful of sugar to lighten up in this very dramatic story of the making of Mary Poppins. Thompson was hard to like due to her Devil Wears Prada Dragon-Lady attitude toward everyone. Paul Giamatti and Tom Hanks brought the love into the harsh film. A good portion of the film you’ll hate Mrs. P.L. Travers (Thompson), but once you get a little more of the story you’ll warm up to her. Also, the sets and costumes of the time were great. It was also cool to get an inside look at the making of a Disney classic.
