Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

This club didn’t buy its Oscars, it earned them. Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto were both fantastic and easily did well enough for their golden awards. I’m not entirely sure the Make-Up and Hair award was earned but that’s ok. They did a great job of adding some levity mixed in with the sad scenes and honestly they could have made this a tearjerker but didn’t go that easy route. A great movie worth watching. It does have some mature content though, just to warn you.

  1. We just watched Dallas Buyers Club and loved it too! Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto were both fantastic – and I agree that the story was tragically sad, but they let the story tell itself. Rarely do I continue to think about a movie after the credits, but this one will continue to stick with me.

    • Thanks Susan! I am just mainly glad they didn’t just make the movie sad throughout. It’s ok to tug on your heartstrings but sometimes movies go overboard to make you sad.
