Thor: The Dark World (2013)

These are dark times indeed. Thor wasn’t as good this time around. He’s one of my favorites from the Avengers. I thought the movie felt really long. It wasn’t exactly a long movie, it just had a lot of superfluous scenes. I also don’t love Natalie Portman’s character. She talks really smart but her acting doesn’t really back it up. I did think that Tom Hiddleston as Loki really stole the show. He had the best humor and is a very likable bad guy. You could probably skip this and not miss much.

  1. I agree with your analysis of Natalie Portman’s character. The writers don’t give her much to do, she doesn’t seem to connect with the material, and let’s face it, their relationship makes no sense. I love what Screenjunkies said their Honest Trailer for Thor the Dark World. Thor spends a lot of time moping around Asgard because he’s hung up on a girl he spent a long weekend with and hasn’t spoken to in 2 years. Spot on, and ridiculous.

    • Not to mention Portman is probably at least in her mid to late 20’s which gives Thor only about 80 years if he’s lucky to be with her before she dies of old age while he lives on for 4000+ more years. Although, I’m sure in Thor 3, she’ll get a magic elixir that will turn her into an Asgardian.
