The Kings of Summer

I wouldn’t call this the King of the coming of age films but it was really excellent. Three unhappy teens leave their homes and build their own in the middle of the wilderness. The direction is fantastic, the music is really good and just the shots of the nature around them is stunning. My brother and I always made forts in the field behind our house and this movie really showed that sense of accomplishment and freedom that a hidden club has for boys. Some slow parts but worth watching for sure.

83/100
